Crafting Premium Grapevines with Precision

At Amberg Grapevines, we pride ourselves on delivering field-grown, dormant grapevines that set the standard for quality and performance. Every vine is cultivated with care and expertise, reflecting years of experience and a commitment to excellence in sustainable viticulture.

Field-Grown Dormant Vines

Our vines are grown in nutrient-rich soils and expertly managed throughout the season to promote healthy, vigorous plants. After reaching the ideal maturity, each vine is carefully lifted from the field during dormancy to ensure optimal root health and viability.

Expert Bench Grafting

We use precise bench grafting techniques to pair premium scion wood with the most suitable rootstocks for your needs. This method ensures strong, lasting bonds that contribute to the long-term success of your vineyard. Each vine undergoes rigorous quality checks to meet our high standards before it reaches you.

Quality from Root to Shoot

From planting to harvest, our team monitors every step of the process to ensure consistent, top-quality vines. Our commitment to craftsmanship and attention to detail result in healthy, reliable plants that thrive in diverse growing conditions.

A Focus on Sustainability

We believe in cultivating a sustainable future. Our vines include innovative PIWI varieties and other resilient selections that help reduce chemical inputs, conserve resources, and support environmentally friendly viticulture.

Understanding the Nursery Cycle

Nursery cycle chart illustrating grapevine production and ordering schedule. The chart shows pruning in winter, grafting in spring, planting in summer, digging and sorting in fall, with ordering phases for preliminary orders (September–February), custom orders (December–March), and shipment scheduling (March–June).

Every vine we grow follows a careful year-round rhythm. This nursery cycle shows how our production and ordering schedules align throughout the seasons so you can plan ahead for spring shipments and custom grafting orders.

Our nursery operates on a 1–2 year cycle, depending on the type of order.

• Preliminary Orders (Fall–Winter): Early orders for spring shipment, usually from existing nursery stock.
• Custom Grafted Orders (Winter–Spring): Budwood sent or custom grafting requests are grown through the next season and delivered the following spring.
• Order Deadline: The last day to place custom orders for the following year’s delivery is March 30.
