Eric Amberg

Eric Amberg

Owner & Operations Manager

Eric brings over 30 years of hands-on nursery experience, formal training from a German nursery, and a degree in Enology from California State University, Fresno, to Amberg Grapevines. He has served on the board of the Clean Plant Network, contributed to the New York State Certification Program, and co-founded J.E.M. Vines to introduce new grape varieties to the U.S. Additionally, Eric spent 20 years as the owner and operator of Amberg Wine Cellars, blending technical expertise with winemaking artistry.

Guided by a deep passion for viticulture, Eric honors Herman Amberg’s legacy while steering Amberg Grapevines toward a future of excellence and innovation. His dedication to quality and growth continues to shape the company’s success and impact on the industry.

Neal Amberg

Assistant Nursery Manager & Mechanic

Neal’s journey began at an early age, working alongside his father, Eric, in the vineyards—sometimes barely able to reach the pedals of a tractor. These formative experiences inspired him to pursue viticulture at Finger Lakes Community College after high school. With over a decade of hands-on experience in the nursery business, Neal is dedicated to preserving and growing the Amberg legacy established by his grandfather. Beyond the farm, Neal serves his community as a volunteer firefighter with the Seneca Castle Fire Company, a role he has proudly held for more than six years.

Caitlyn Peck

Vineyard Manager & Winemaker

Caitlyn is a true Jill of all trades, with over a decade of experience in the wine industry spanning packaging, distribution, tasting room management, and sales. As Vineyard Manager, she thrives in the perfect blend of office work and hands-on farming. Caitlyn leads our sustainability initiatives in partnership with the New York Wine & Grape Foundation, driving us toward a more sustainable future. A Finger Lakes native, she studied Business at SUNY Oswego as well as Viticulture and Enology at Finger Lakes Community College and holds a WSET Level 2 certification—making her a proud wine “nerd.” When she’s not tending to our mother blocks, Caitlyn can be found in the cellar where she produces the wines for our Rooted by Amberg brand. She also enjoys cheering on her daughter from the sidelines, crafting homemade jelly, or baking delicious treats.
