Viticulture Characteristics

Mid-season budding and early ripening; yields tend to be high and cluster thinning may be required. Berries have thick skins and are small, in medium to large compact clusters with high levels of anthocyanins. Susceptible to powdery mildew.

Wine Characteristics

Depending on vineyard and climate, wines can produce a wide range of aromas and flavors such as strawberries, blackcurrants and cherries to prunes, chocolate, leather and tobacco. Medium to full-bodied with moderate tannins and low to medium acidity. Does well with oak aging.
